Mallory is a Catholic artist working and living in the City of Pittsburgh. She is a wife of a Pittsburgh Firefighter and the mother of two silly little children. She enjoys exploring her faith through making, and finds that co-creating with God allows her to slow down and contemplate the vastness of our own creator.
Sacred Art has always played a role in her life ever since she was a child. From her mother’s hand painted traditional Byzantine icons, to a pilgrimage made to the beautiful Cologne Cathedral in Germany, for the 2005 World Youth Day. Mallory has found that when words fail her, art has a way to help her understand her faith. Imagery of the Catholic faith has the ability to move people. Mallory’s favorite aspect of creating, is that there is freedom in letting go, realizing that she doesn’t have all the answers. Paintings work out themselves when falling into trust. +
